Christmas is, of course, the time of the year where you are going to, hopefully, be tucking into mounds and mounds of food. I mean, it tastes delicious, right? Of course, it is going to be detrimental to any sort of healthy eating plan that you are trying to follow.
this is why we decided to share our Christmas tips that will hopefully point you in the right direction:
- In the morning – you are going to want a decent and healthy breakfast. Try to get a fruit and vegetable in there. Throw some egg on the top (not literally!) for some protein. This will keep your stomach full and you will, most likely, be able to steer clear of any snacks before the big meal. If you must eat before you eat your Christmas food, then a piece of fruit should be fine.
- Good plate proportion – make sure that you have something healthy on it. You can still feast on that turkey, but some boiled vegetables will go a long way towards helping to keep the overall calories of your meal down. Many people will suggest that you load your plate with healthy food options before you get that meat and stuff on there.
- Try to stay away from the alcohol – (if you can!) You will be surprised at how much in terms of calories this will add to your meal. If you must drink alcohol, try to limit yourself to a single glass of red wine. The rest should be water. The water will do its part in helping you to remain feeling full, but, it is going to be incredibly healthy too!
- Eat slowly! – Try not to stuff your face with food. If you eat slowly, it will give your body a chance to determine whether it feels full or not.
