The Mediterranean diet is not only delicious, apparently it’s super healthy! Since the diet is rich in plants and fish, it allows you to eat plenty of fats. Nuts, fruits, vegetables, grains and seafood- which are all key components- contain unsaturated fats that have been linked to lower risk of disease and cancer.
Just add wine and a little bit of olive oil and you are good to go!
Researchers have analyzed all the aspects of the diet, and have come to realize that people who followed the Mediterranean diet had a 29 percent chance of lowering risk of developing heart disease than those who weren’t on the diet, a 57 percent chance of lowering breast cancer risk, and a 30 percent chance of reducing risk of getting diabetes.
So pop open that glass of wine, and bring out the olives!
